Steel-Cut Oats with Honey

Prep time: 2 minutes, cook time: 3-4 hours, servings: 6


  • 1 cup steel-cut oatmeal
  • 1 cup skimmed milk
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 tablespoons almond butter
  • 5-6 tablespoons honey
  • Salt, to taste


  1. In a large bowl combine water, milk and steel-cut oatmeal. Season with salt and mix well.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker, close the lid and cook in high for 3-4 hours.
  3. When ready, stir in almond butter, top with honey and serve.
